“But the Lord is faithful, who shall establish you, and
keep you from evil.”
(2 Thess. 2:3)
Here are scriptures to comfort us when reaching our goal seems so far, far away. They are perfect to memorize and carry with us for always.
The Lord is always there to anchor our hearts and our lives. Sometimes He also gives us a word to anchor our dreams and intentions. This verse bequeaths us with a marvelous anchor, the word “establish.”
Establish is a verb that means “to make stable, to make firm, to settle, to order or ordain, or enact.” And we get to choose what we want to establish inour lives, our behaviors, our attitudes. If you’re reading this, I know you wantvery much to establish a healthy weight for your body.
If “good” personal choices for us and our bodies is defined in keeping the laws of wise eating and exercise, then “evil” is easily identifed as good’s opposite, or not keeping the laws of health.
The Lord is faithful! As we do our part, He does and will establish the laws and blessings of strength and health in our lives and in our bodies.
And to top it off -- He’ll even keep us from evil.
Such a deal! How he loves and nurtures us!
